CUNY is delivering the most diverse workforce on Earth.

Out of the Blue’s founder provided expertise in marketing strategy, lead generation and recruitment for City University of New York (CUNY)’s urban sustainability graduate program at City College.

Success included increasing applications by ~18% for the 2016 Fall semester and qualifying a pipeline for three CUNY schools that form the multidisciplinary foundation of the sustainability masters degree: engineering, architecture and policy. Deliverables included audience targeting, strategic deep dive research to expand recruitment and engagement data sets, collateral development, direct mail campaign management, and traditional outreach.

The City University of New York (CUNY) is the nation’s largest urban public university, a transformative engine of social mobility. Founded in 1847 with its flagship campus, City College of New York (CCNY), it was the nation’s first free public institution of higher education and earn its reputation as the “Harvard on The Hudson.” Today, CUNY has 25 colleges across NYC’s five boroughs, serving 275,000 students of all ages and backgrounds, and awarding 55,000 degrees each year.

Challenge:

Increase graduate program applications for the Fall 2016 semester. Raise awareness and interest on a shoestring budget.
